Divergent by Veronica Roth - very engrossing
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Paper Towns by John Green - this book is absolutely wonderful
Feed by M. T. Anderson
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
Harry Potter, books 1-7 by J. K. Rowling (and if you haven't yet, super horrible shame be upon you, so FIX IT)
Holes by Louis Sachar - I liked the way this book has so many subplots that all tie in together.
Baby by Patricia MacLachlan
The Underneath by Kathi Appelt - this book made me cry. Few can.
Looking for Alaska by John Green
The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare - though it's very girl-geared
Bamboo People by Mitali Perkins
The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Gossamer by Lois Lowry
Theodosia Throckmorton series - these are lighter books aimed for perhaps slightly younger readers, but I like them
The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
